BLOGPARADE: Musikpromotion im Netz: gute Promo - schlechte Promo
Google, Last.FM oder MySpace? Bannerwerbung, Videos, Gratis-MP3s oder…?
Die Anzahl der Möglichkeiten für Bands im Netz die eigene Musik zu promoten sind ja nahezu unüberschaubar geworden. Entsprechend ist der Nutzer mit einem immensen Überangebot an Musik konfrontiert. Laut einer Studie werden 85 Prozent aller im Web zum Verkauf stehenden Musiktitel kein einziges Mal heruntergeladen.
Auch Web-Musikexperte Udo Raaf relativiert die Möglichkeiten des Web 2.0. In seinem Artikel “Lob der Labels ” schreibt er: “Fansein bedeutet heute nicht mehr, rares und neues Material zu ergattern oder auf jedes Konzert zu gehen. Fansein erledigt man heute mit einem Mausklick. Einmal “geaddet” hat sich der Fall […].
Wir fragen uns daher, wie man User zu echten Fans machen kann.
Wie lässt sich Musik im Netz wirklich sinnvoll promoten?
Welche Promo-Tools sind zu empfehlen?
Welche persönlichen Erfahrungen habt ihr mit Onlinepromotionaktionen für neue Alben gemacht?
Seid ihr schon mal durch Onlinepromo zum Kauf eines Album angeregt worden?
Kennt ihr Beispiele für gute oder schlechte Onlinepromo? Welche Onlinepromoaktivitäten von Bands fandet ihr besonders originell? Habt ihr eigene Ideen?

Hintergrund für diesen Aufruf ist die Veröffentlichung einer Best of CD der Band Fools Garden im Juni 2009.
Es wäre schön, wenn ihr in euren Beiträgen daher einen Schwerpunkt auf das Genre Rock/Pop für eine eher erwachsene Zielgruppe legen könntet.

sehr geehrter Herr Morscheck,
gerne nehme ich Stellung zu Ihrem Aufruf über Kommentare zur Musik-Promotion. Kurz vorab ein paar Infos über mich: Ich heiße Thomas Schmitt, bin 29 Jahre und arbeite als Techniker bei einem in der Stahlindustrie tätigen Unternehmen. Musik höre bzw. konsumiere ich bewusst seit meinen 14. Lebensjahr.
Aber nun mein Kommentar zu guter bzw. schlechter Promo für Musik und deren Veröffentlichungen. Mitte der 90er Jahre war die Promotion für Musik sicher um einiges komplizierter. Es gab noch kaum Internet - es wurden noch keine CDs gebrannt und man erfuhr nur durch Zufall oder Zeitungsartikel / Musikcharts von neuen Veröffentlichungen.
Dies hat sich zum Glück dank des Internets geändert - wenngleich damit auch die Verbreitung illegal erworbener Musik zunahm. Zum Beispiel Fools Garden: Ich bin damals durch deren Welthit “Lemon Tree” auf die Band aufmerksam geworden. Dieser Hit ist bis heute ein Glücksfall für die Band. Jeder kennt die Gruppe ausm Schwabenländle aufgrund dieses Hits. Eine bessere Promotion kann es für eine Band deshalb kaum geben.
Aber in den letzten Jahren ist es ruhig geworden um die Band. Derzeit glaube ich immer noch ohne Plattenvertrag spielt die Band in Deutschland oft nur kleinere Konzerte. Die meisten Zuschauer auf deren Konzerten sind inzwischen nur noch die eingefleischten Fans oder solche die kommen um den Welthit “Lemon Tree” einmal live zu hören. Überhaupt wird in der heutigen Zeit das Spielen von Konzerten für Musiker immer wichtiger.
Ich denke Konzerte ist nach rückläufigen Plattenverkäufen mittlerweile zu einem wichtigen Faktor, auch finanziell, für eine Band geworden. Bei guten Live-Konzerten kann eine Band die beste Werbung für sich und ihr musikalisches Produkt machen. Oft kaufen gerade deshalb Leute nach dem Besuch eines guten Konzertes Musik (entweder direkt am Merch-Stand oder später im Geschäft) die Musik, weil sie mit dieser ein gutes Konzerterlebnis verbinden und dieses Gefühl so jederzeit auf der heimischen Stereoanlage wiederholen können.
Ich habe in den letzten 15 Jahren unzählige Konzerte besucht - meist von Rock- und Punkrockbands aber auch von Gruppen wie Fools Garden, Bell Book & Candle, etc. Für mich gehört zu einer guten Band eben auch deren Live-Qualitäten dazu und da spielt Fools Garden (mit Claus Müller
und Dirk Blümlein) ganz oben mit - auch wenn das nicht allzuviele Leute in Deutschland mitbekommen.
Zur Promotion der des neuen Fools Garden Best-Of / Studio-Albums:
Neue Wege in der Promotion von Musik zu erfinden ist schwer. Ich möchte mal kurz meine Erfahrungen damit schildern. In der heutigen Zeit wird zur Promo von Musik viel Zeit und Geld ins Internet investiert. Das ist einerseits gut, andererseits wird über das Medium Internet aber auch der Zugang zu illegal erworbener Musik hergestellt.
Ich persönlich kaufe mir von meinen Lieblingsbands nach wie vor die Alben im Geschäft, weil für mich zu einem Album eben auch die Aufmachung wie Cover, Booklet, etc. dazu gehört. Mich interessieren neben der Musik Details zum Produkt wie zum Beispiel Aufnahme-Studio, Gruß und Dank des Künstlers, Texte zu den Liedern usw.
Meine Erfahrung zu Promo: Ich bin in einigen Streetteams aktiv. Dies sind von Bands betreute Fangruppen, die bei neuen Veröffentlichungen mit Flyern, Aufklebern, Postern, etc. ausgestattet werden und so die Band
aktiv unterstützen. In der heutigen unpersönlichen Zeit tut man gut daran Promo persönlich an den Mann zu bringen, d.h. die Flyer auf Konzerten, in Clubs, Bars, … zu verteilen bzw. auszulegen. Im Gegenzug erhalten
die Streetteam-Mitglieder oft spezielle Gimmicks (Gästeliste, Promo-Cd, T-Shirts) der jeweiligen Band.
Für mich wichtig ist im Internet die mypsace-Seite. Dies ist eine tolle Platform um Musik, auch von unbekannten Gruppen, an den Musikfan zu bringen. Die Möglichkeit ausgewählte Lieder dort zum kostenlosen Hören anzubieten ist ideal für eine Band um ihren Stil und einen Überblick ihres bisherigen Schaffens zu ermöglichen. Tourdaten, Blogeinträge und Videosequenzen runden die Seite ab.
Zu neuen Fools Garden-Veröffentlichungen: Bei dem Best-Of Album würde ich mir wünschen, das dort auch unveröffentlichte Lieder (ggf. Live-Aufnahmen) mit drauf sind damit auch Fans die alle Alben bereits besitzen einen Reiz zum Kauf verspüren. Im Rahmen der dazugehörigen Promo würde ich es gut finden wenn die Band in ausgesuchten Fernseh-Sendungen ein Best-Of-Medley spielen würde oder bei verschiedenen Radiosendern kurze Live-Session veranstalten würde. Positiv für den Verkauf wären sicher auch Kurzauftritte in Plattenläden mit Akustik-Session des Best-Of-Medleys anschl. Autogrammstunde, Verlosung von Wohnzimmerkonzerten etc.
Ansonsten sollte der Weg der Promotion über Konzerte, Konzerte, Konzerte erfolgen. Man könnte zum Beispiel ein großes Konzert zur Veröffentlichung des Best-Of-Albums oder Bandjubiläum planen.
Vertrieben werden könnte die Musik neben der klassischen CD auch über Internetstores wie musicload, itunes, … hier könnte man auch noch nur speziell für die Internetstores veröffentliche rare Tracks anbieten.
Abschließend wünsche ich der Band Fools Garden für die Zukunft alles Gute und hoffe die Jungs schon bald wieder bei einem Konzert live erleben zu können. Ich freue mich auch über neue Musik und vielleicht klappts
dabei ja nochmal mit einem Hit wie seinerzeit “Lemon Tree”.

Naja, ich habe meinen KOmmentar als Beitrag in emeinm Blog abgelegt. Immerhin hat diese Mail mich auf Fools Garden aufmerksam gemacht - ich hätte aber auch genervt sein können. Aber wenn überhaupt, dann können die Fans, die sich wirklich für ihre Band einsetzen, einiges bewegen. Sofern sie Pormozeug für ihre Blogs usw. zur Verfügung gestellt bekommen (Video oder Songs zum anhören als Beleg für die (angebliche) musikalische Fähigkeiten…)

Problems with shutting down Ubuntu 10.04
Ubuntu 10.04 desktop installed on the laptop.
The site ubuntu says that the desktop is suitable for desktops and laptops.
When you turn off your laptop, there is as it should be intro ubuntu, and five small white circles. Three of them are red (an indicator), and two are white.
But all are supposed to be red. We had a simple button (which is on the keyboard, the physical button) off new laptop.
