Blogparade: Gute/Schlechte Musikpromo im Netz - FAZIT
Was ist gute Musikpromotion im Netz? - fragten wir im März in unserer ersten Blogparade.
Bis zum 31.03. haben wir 14 Beiträge erhalten. Vielen Dank an alle, die mitgemacht haben!
Wir hätten nicht gedacht, so spannende Hinweise zu erhalten… Die erste Antwort kam vom Video Wahn Blog.
Raphale Raue sieht Musikvideos als ideales Promoinstrument an, bemängelt aber, dass bei etlichen Videos im Netz - insbesondere bei Youtube - urheberrechtliche Fragen oft nicht klar sind. “Ich würde Künstlern immer raten, sich klar zu positionieren, damit Webseitenbetreiber wie ich auch klar Bescheid wissen. Wenn sie nicht wollen, dass ich ihr Video benutze, sollen sie es ebenso sagen, wie wenn sie es wollen.”
Als Beispiel für gute Netzpromo führt er die Band Radiohead an, die ihr komplettes Album “In Rainbows” zum Download bereitgestellt haben. Der User konnte es entweder kostenlos herunterladen oder einen Preis seiner Wahl für das Album zahlen. Gleichzeitig hat die Band als Alternative eine schicke CD-Box über die Homepage angeboten. Im Durchschnitt hat Radiohead 4 Euro pro Download eingenommen und die Box angeblich 100.000 Mal über die Website verkauft.
Später erfolgte noch ein normales Release über den üblichen Handel: Trotz Downloadaktion verkauften Radiohead allein in der ersten Woche
44.602 Einheiten in UK und 122.000 Stück in den USA. Insgesamt wurde das Album 3 Millionen Mal verkauft! Ein wirklich erfolgreiches Beispiel.
Kostenlose Musik sieht der Trybedarf Blog als Grundstein für längerwährende Karrieren. Trybedarf führt als positives Musikpromobeispiel die Black Crowes an, die am Anfang ihrer Karriere ihre Konzertbesucher aufgefordert haben, Bootlegs ihrer Gigs anzufertigen. Außerdem verweist er auf Puppenspieler Rene Marik, dessen Erfolg sich durch YouTube Videos begründet habe.
Ohne die nötige Aufmerksamkeit oder Bekanntheitsgrad sind solche Aktionen allerdings ernüchternd.
Jan Tißler vom Upload Magazin verweist auf ein Experiment des Musikproduzenten und DJs Zettt. Er hat ein Album veröffentlicht, das er zum kostenlosen Download angeboten, aber um Spenden gebeten hat. Unter allen Bloggern, die über ihn berichteten, hat er drei IPods verlost.
Die Aktion hat er durch ca. 300 Mails und 500 Postings in Portalen wie MySpace, StudiVZ beworden. Die größten Erfolge waren Erwähnungen in gut besuchten Blogs wie Basic Thinking oder Apfelquak. Insgesamt hat er aber nur 1,50 Euro Spendengelder erhalten. In 3 Monaten wurde das Album 4000 Mal herunter geladen.
Einige Blogger wie Rockheart, Trybedarf, AudioStyle meinen, dass ihre Beiträge selbst gute Musikpromotion sind und erkennen in ihren Artikeln zu unserm Aufruf Werbung für das neue Fools Garden Best of Album. Die wird natürlich dankend angenommen!

Zunächst hat er sich ausführlich mit dem Thema Musikpromo auseinandergesetzt und dann noch unsere derzeitige Webpräsenz unter Promoaspekten unter die Lupe genommen. Das ist wirklich hilfreich. Danke!
Aus dem Musikpromotionartikel zitiere ich hier mal seine praktischen Fazitbalken:

keine Gewinnspiele | ja zu Blogparaden | Remix Contest sehr gerne | Gratis mp3 nett, aber nicht effektiv
Werbung zweifelhaft | Emails nur gezielt | Viral schwierig aber effektiv
Besonders gefreut hat uns auch der Beitrag von Norman Osthus. Norman ist einer der aktivsten Podcaster Deutschlands. Mit seiner Podparade hat er seit Jahren Kontakt zu Musikern, die im Web besonders aktiv sind. Fools Garden hat er auch schon einmal interviewt und einen Konzertmitschnitt von einem Fools Garden Konzert in Gütersloh ins Netz gebracht hat.
Er bringt spannende Beispiele wie die komplett selbst-organisierende amerikanische Band “Harvey Danger“ oder die BUM RUSH THE CHARTS Aktion, die zeigt, wie weit es eine Band durch die vereinte Gunst der Podcaster in die ITunesCharts schaffen kann…Lest euch die Beiträge am besten mal komplett durch.
Zu Herzen werden wir uns auch die zahlreichen Hinweise nehmen, die sich auf den Inhalt des geplanten Best of Albums beziehen. Besonders auf unsere englischsprachige Version der Blogparade erhielten wir per Mail etliche Wunschtracklisten für das Album. Bonusmaterial, unveröffentlichte Songs und Live-Aufnahmen werden gewünscht. Thomas Schmitt empfiehlt uns zudem, viel Wert auf das Cover und Booklet zu legen. Er kauft sich Alben nämlich nicht im Netz, sondern im Geschäft. “Mich interessieren neben der Musik Details zum Produkt wie zum Beispiel Aufnahme-Studio, Gruß und Dank des Künstlers, Texte zu den Liedern usw.” Am wichtigsten sei aber, live zu spielen. “Für mich gehört zu einer guten Band eben auch deren Live-Qualitäten dazu und da spielt Fools Garden (mit Claus Müller und Dirk Blümlein) ganz oben mit”. MySpace mag keiner - nutzt aber jeder (Norman Osthus dazu: “Nahbarkeit ist trumpf. Und MySpace vermittelt zumindest die Illusion davon”)
Last.fm kommt insgesamt besser weg als MySpace
Blogger sind dankbar für gutes Web-Promomaterial (Videos, Widgets…) - dabei sollte das Urheberrecht klar geregelt sein
Qualität ist gefragt: Tolles Cover, Booklet mit Hintergrundinfos, exklusives Bonusmaterial, gute Konzerte

Über die Blogparade:
Wir haben die Blogparade am 03.03.2009 auf www.foolsblog.de und http://blog-parade.de/2009/03/musikpromotion-im-netz-gute-promo-schlechte-promo/ gestartet.
Nach den ersten drei Reaktionen stockte die Resonanz etwas. Daher haben wir im Fools Garden Newsletter darauf aufmerksam gemacht und eine Mail an 14 Musikblogs verschickt.
Wir haben darauf weitere 7 Antworten erhalten.
Der Newsletter animierte vor allen unsere englischsprachigen Fans. Blogger haben wir damit weniger erreicht.
Wir werden die Blogparade daher auch noch einmal auf BlogCarnival.com einstellen und das Thema auch noch in ein paar Foren anstoßen.
Wir sind gespannt, welche Tipps wir noch erhalten. Wir halten euch auf dem Laufenden.

Hey echt gutes Blog, machst du Einnahmen damit ? Ich selbst hab bei meiner Seite lange nach Verdienstmöglichkeiten gesucht aber nicht gefunden. vor kurzem bin ich auf Backlinkseller gestoßen, damit verdiene ich schon fast 55 € im Monat. Hast du zufällig eine noch bessere Alternative für mich ? Währe echt nett.
